Carolyn Skillicorn Foxe was born 1952 in Watsonville, CA to parents Thomas and Mary Jane Skillicorn. She was married to James Foxe in 1975. She passed suddenly on June 23, 2024. She is survived by her spouse Jim, her three children: Rusty, wife Amanda and two grandchildren; Kristin, husband Scott Anderson and three grandchildren; Michael and his wife Jenni. In addition she is survived by her siblings Nancy Sharick (Tim), John Skillicorn (Karen), Janet Luksik (Dan) and James Skillicorn (Dianna). She also leaves 12 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces and nephews. Carolyn's life was one of service to family and others. Her faith and leadership kept her close to the First Presbyterian Church of Visalia, serving many years as elder and clerk of session. Her concern was for the life and health of the community of faith and she willingly assumed any responsibility. She was instrumental in forming a partnership with a church in Stavenhagen, old East Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. She was a devoted and active 53-year member of PEO, a charitable organization dedicated to furthering and supporting women's education. She was also involved with the California Medical Association Alliance and served as state president for a year. During that time she contributed to the Teen Survival Guide produced by the Tulare County Alliance. Carolyn had an entrepreneurial streak as well. After living in Germany for six years, she ran her own tour business, personally guiding groups from the U.S. to destinations throughout Europe. Locally, she partnered with her best friend Charmaine to form C&C Vermiculture (worm composting) to convert dairy manure into rich fertilizer. To her family, she was the glue that held everyone together. She enabled her spouse to serve others through medicine. She supported her children throughout their schooling and into adulthood, encouraging them along the way. She was highly involved in the lives of her grandchildren, never missing a birthday, the chance to read a book or play a game, even if it was via a video call. She was available to help at a moment's notice. Carolyn's final week on earth was spent with the entire family at a camp where she participated in many activities. She was happiest with her family, doing what they enjoyed. We are all very grateful for the time we shared together, not knowing that the end was nearing. She was a blessing and leaves a great void in our lives and the community. We miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Committee at First Presbyterian Church of Visalia. 215 N. Locust Street Visalia, CA 93291 The Memorial service will be on Saturday, July 6th at 12:30 pm. With a location of First Presbyterian Church in Visalia.
